Shireen Qureshi’s painting, Untitled Nude, is not indicative of her usual style, however it presents a powerful image of the ‘acting self’, that is a self which is thinking and responding in each moment. Shireen agreed to the curator’s request to leave the painting in it’s unfinished state, realising that she would have most certainly painted out the black hand which is pivotal to the work and its meaning.
