Melanie Titmuss addresses ageing and isolation in her paintings.  Her Woman with Cardigan presents an individual who seems to have made curious choices in personal appearance and the question arises: were these choices made through personal preference or circumstance? This painting, along with others in the exhibition, raises questions of the effects of socialization on identity.
